F1 visa for studies in the USA

Immigrate To United States — Types of US Visas — Conditions for immigration to America? ✈️ ✈ 👇👇👇👇👇👇 Have you always dreamed of doing or continuing your studies in the United States? In order to make your wish come true, it is important to take the right steps. First of all, it is necessary to obtain an adequate residence permit: the F1 visa among the different visas for the United States.

What is an F1 visa?

The F1 visa was created especially for people who wish to study in the United States. It is intended for students who want to enroll in an accredited American institution for more than 18 hours of classes per week. These institutions can be public or private, institutions offering English language programs, high schools and universities. However, elementary and elementary school as well as adult education centers do not qualify for the visa.

It is important to note that the F1 visa only allows you to travel to the USA to study and nothing else! During the first year of study, it is strictly forbidden to work off-campus. And even within the campus, the only jobs allowed must be solely related to your integration and not to earn money to live. How do I get an F1 visa?

Unlike an ESTA application, the process of obtaining a visa can be long and tedious: the F1 visa is no exception.

First of all, it is mandatory to find an institution to enroll in. It is thanks to the latter that the procedure can begin by issuing you with the first piece of paper to fill out: the I-20 form which allows you to register in the SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System).

You will then need to complete the DS-160 form online here. As with all the forms you will need to fill out for the USA, we advise you to fill out the information requested as clearly and honestly as possible. As the US administration is known for its strict and procedural side, your application may be refused due to a simple typing error. Once the DS-160 has been completed, you will be asked to pay a processing fee and a 10-digit number will be assigned to you: please note it down.

Then comes the interview at the U.S. Embassy. In order to make an appointment, you will need to present the following documents:

*    The 10-digit number you received when you completed the DS-160 form;
*    The CGI number that you will find on the receipt when you make your payment;
*    Your passport number.

Once the interview date has been set, you will be asked to present yourself with a file containing :

*    Confirmation of the DS-160 form;
*    Receipt of payment of the visa application fee;
*    A copy of the appointment confirmation;
*    A passport with a validity of more than six months exceeding the duration of the planned stay;
*    Form I-20;
*    SEVIS payment receipt and Form I-901;
*    A 5cm x 5cm photo taken within the last six months.

If you will be in the United States for at least one year, you will be required to have the necessary funds to pay the tuition fees and to finance your life in the United States. No paid employment will be allowed during the first year. Be careful not to confuse F1 and J1 visas!
