Mandatory visa for the USA

Immigrate To United States — Types of US Visas — Conditions for immigration to America? ✈️ ✈ 👇👇👇👇👇👇 As with any trip abroad, it is necessary to obtain an entry permit in order to travel to the United States of America. You can therefore obtain a visa for the United States, which allows you to control legal immigration within a country. But there are several types of visas, which can sometimes be confusing when preparing your trip.

Do I need a visa for the USA?

A visa is an official document that is issued by the authorities of a country to a person who is not a citizen of that country. It allows the latter to travel legally, but the visa is above all mandatory! It is necessary to obtain it before going abroad. There are sometimes exceptions, notably thanks to agreements between countries to facilitate border crossings. The example that best illustrates such a system is that of the European Union, where all member countries authorize nationals to travel from country to country simply with their identity papers.

This facilitation also exists for the USA with the ESTA declaration. Depending on the type of travel planned, it is possible to do without a visa, but an authorization of any kind is required to travel to the United States.

Which visa for the USA?

As mentioned above, there are many different types of visa. One could almost say that there are as many American visas as there are reasons to travel to the United States. Here is a non-exhaustive list for your information:

 *  A1 visa: for Heads of State, ambassadors, ministers, diplomats ;
 *  Visa B1: for business travel and for domestic staff ;
 *  Visa C1: for a transit during a trip through the United States;
 *  Visa F1: for students;
 *  Visa G1: for members of a permanent mission of a State recognized by the U.S. administration for an international organization;
 *   H1B1 Visa: for specialized persons employed in positions requiring a higher education degree;
 *   Visa I: for journalists;
 *   H2A Visa: for seasonal workers;

The list is very long, so it is important to understand the reasons for your trip in order to make the proper application. You will then need to contact the American Embassy to start the visa application process.

Although the ESTA is not strictly speaking a visa, it is nevertheless a travel authorization. In order to apply, you must meet the following criteria:

    Be a national of one of the countries participating in the program (of which France is a part) ;
    Possess a valid electronic or biometric passport;
    Plan a stay of less than 90 days maximum;
